A traditional legend of “la playa de las azucenas” an extinguished beach of Motril

Once upon a time, in one of our short but exciting trips to the coast of Motril to my grandfather´s flat, we were told about the history of the name of the fond sandy beach that swung our dreams in those humidity and fragrant nights.

“ It´s said that a Portuguese boat, while  coming back to its country was surprised by a sudden and sharp storm. Time passed, but the inclement weather didn´t get better. The  stiff wind ripped most of the sails. Gigantic waves moved them with no control and a downpour with no pause were the enough reasons to implore  the Virgin, who was taken in Corinto and accompanied them during the journey, to stop the tempest. So, on the other hand, they promised her landing and to make a church for her .Suddenly the storm paused and, as  soon as they began their trip, the weather became worse. Repeating again the same action, they Kneeled down in front of the image, and as a result the calm water led them to the beaches in Motril. It was repeated even three times, until the sailors took into account the Virgin´s wish of landing. So, it was in the exact moment  where they were closed to earth when all of them could gaze the beach completely covered of lilies. This is a symbol of purity.”

Gigant´s Caseway

This photo belongs to a journey which we did last summer. It´s the north of Irland , that is to say Ulster. I would tell you that is the second and consecutive year we visit the island. I don´t know why, but we repeated again although ... careful! This last time we were in other country. To be honest, in spite of the fact that the main goal of our trip was to visit the  Gigant´s Caseway which, in addition is said it could be considered the eighth wonder of the world, it was the touching and recently history which really impressed us. How to explain? Wall paintings, flags, double ironwork gate separating two ideologies, two religions, to ways of living, tombstones in the midle of the street, silence , opposites feelings calm-tense.... Obviously, the Ethic doesn´t allow us to take any photo. Whith no doubt it was the best part of the journey which really involves us in their "Troubles", trying to understand them and growing our knowledge and our personality.

The Windown

Two points of view of a moment. Darkness and light, to see and to be gazed. A square of a city, a café which nowadays loods and dresses the streets. A pleasant time to share a cup of tea, to speak , to have a break that is to say, to stop the time while you feel the movement of the life.
